Welcome

Welcome to the official website of the Chrysler Car Club of South Australia.
Adelaide, South Oz is the birthplace of the Valiant and spiritual home of Chrysler down under. Established in 1984, one of the biggest and oldest car clubs in Australia, the CCCSA have 198 financial members - 128 on the historic registration scheme - with our monthly meetings attracting at least forty or more MoPar enthusiasts regularly.

Due to technical reasons, to make sure you have the very latest CCCSA news displaying on this homepage, right-click with your mouse in the middle of your browser (somewhere on this webpage) and scroll down to "refresh". Don't use the Refresh button in your browser.

BREAKING NEWS

Annual General Meeting

The next regular monthly club meeting on Tuesday August 10 will be followed by the CCCSA’s 2010 AGM.

If you’d like to see some changes in the way things are done in our club, then this is your chance to be proactive and do something directly about it. Remember, fresh faces mean fresh ideas and this is what keeps our historic club so alive and well. Don’t sit there and leave it to the same old folks, sledging them from the background, stand up and be counted. If you think we need one, make a difference yourself…

All positions in the club’s Committee and Historic Registration will be declared open and the club will be calling on nominations for each position.

If you will not be present but would like to nominate someone for a particular role you can download a proxy form by clicking here (PDF 15K) and then mailing it to the club by this next meeting.

Recent Minutes

The July 2010 minutes will be COMING SOON. Stay tuned for a full wrap-up of upcoming events.

This Month's News

TORQUEBACK ONLINE

All Chrysler Day 2010 Special

OK, so for those of you who don't know, Torqueback is the official magazine of the Chrysler Car Club of South Australia, our club newsletter.

Torqueback has a spotlight on a particular Chrysler theme, usually a model or event, with regular features being reports from our committee, repro magazine extracts, the cartoon strip Full Boar, and a member profile - typically an owner of the car in the spotlight.

We have plans for upcoming issues to cover the Charger, and the (relatively unknown) history of the three different kinds of latey hardtop, and Torqueback editor Adriana - who is currently cruising America in an old Plymouth and visted Carlisle - will be writng about her trip and the Mopar scene in the US.

CURRENT ISSUE OUT NOW

The March/May 2010 edition of Torqueback is now out (sorry about the delay but it's been well worth the wait). The now annual All Chrysler Day special - weighing in at an extra 32 pages - is now becoming a highly anticipated tradition and this issue certainly lives up to last year's.

This edition, of course, like the show, spotlights the 40th anniversary of the VG and the Aussie Hemi, chock full of eye candy from both the show on the Sunday and the Mopar MegaCruise on the Saturday night, with a history of the model and the motor. There's also an article about the rare "Stirling Special" model, some retro adverts, a very unusual VJ wagon of historical importance, we introduce you to Darren Koziol's VJ 'zombie hunter' hardtop, and Full Boar takes us to the Pomona Swap Meet, all wrapped around a centrespread of a rare VG Mexicana.

A web version of our quarterly mag will now be available either from here at the club website or at the Hemi 6 Pack forum, a short time after every new issue comes out in print and is circulated to our subscribing membership.

Now this is (quite deliberately) only in web resolution, so it will not print out as clearly as the original magazine does.

However, if you'd like to enjoy a glossy hardcopy just as our members do, all you'd have to do would be to join our club and as part of your membership you'll be mailed out a magazine every quarter.

Go to our Membership page of our website for details. Membership is only $20 per year and no, you don't have to be in SA to be a member. More the merrier.

So with each edition, simply click on a thumbnail below which will link to the MediaFire website where you'll be able to download that particular back issue of Torqueback.
